  • Authentic Irish Experience: The school offers a rich extracurricular programme.

What we dislike about the school
  • Older students should consider that the average age of students at the school is significantly younger than at most other schools.
  • Do not offer favorable cancellation terms in the case of a student getting a visa rejected.

Venue: Arguably, there are few places in Dublin that say “Dublin” quite so loudly as Dame Street, the address for ELI Schools-Dame Street location. Right in the heart of the city core, the school is surrounded by the most well-known landmarks in Dublin: Temple Bar; Dublin Castle; City Hall; George’s St. Arcade; even the Irish Film Institute is less than a block away. Parliament Square and Trinity College Dublin, home to the renowned Book of Kells, is less than 10 minutes away on foot.

Irish Experience: ELI Schools-Dame Street aims to provide its students with an authentic Irish experience, and school staff organise a full range of extra curricular activities which allow students to learn about Irish life with themes like: Cultural Corner; Fresh Air Friday; Sports & Social; and Weekend Adventure. ELI makes sure that students have a solid social structure in which to continue their English learning outside of class time.

Programmes: Students at ELI can take General or Extended English, with an added emphasis on fluency, as well as Exam Preparation or Professional English classes. They also run a Study and Work programme and Experience Ireland packages.

Getting around: The school is on a direct line by coach from Dublin Airport (DUB), and the trip takes around half an hour. Several bus lines service the nearby stops on Dame Street and there are both tram stops and a train station less than 15 minutes’ walking distance from the school. Dublin also has a bike sharing programme which is a green and easy way to get around the relatively flat city.
