Venue: Located in the affluent Dublin suburb of Rathmines, Atlas Language School Dublin’s Junior Centre is based at St Louis High School. Rathmines is just south of Dublin city and the area around the school is mainly residential with many large Victorian and Georgian houses. St Louis High School is an all-girls secondary school with excellent facilities, founded more than 100 years ago. The commercial area of Rathmines is home to upscale gastrobars, trendy bistros and small art galleries.
Programmes: Atlas Language School Junior Centre has different course options available for students aged 11 through 17. Their Fluency course is a general English programme with a strong emphasis on communication; Fluency Plus has additional small-group English classes; Cambridge Exam preparation courses for either the FCE or CAE; and their Fluency & Sustainability programme which combines the Fluency course with project work on the theme of Environmental Sustainability.
Accommodation: Students on the junior programme at Atlas Language School are housed with local families, many of whom have collaborated with the summer programme for several years. Students stay in a shared room and the host family provides full board, which includes a packed lunch for midday. Students are transported to and from the school in a private bus.
Activities: All courses offered at Atlas Language School Dublin’s Junior Centre include a programme of 3 to 5 organised activities and one full-day weekend excursion per week. Activities can include sports, art or crafts, and visits to places like the Wax Museum or the National Gallery in Dublin. And possible destinations for the full day excursion include Glendalough, Kilkenny, and Wicklow, among others.
