What we like about the school
  • Beautiful historic building
  • Classrooms with interactive whiteboards
What we dislike about the school
  • Lessons are 45 minutes long, which is shorter than in other schools.

Location: The school is situated on the main road running through Hove, just on the border between Hove and Brighton. Hove is an upmarket area, with a more tranquil feel than its bustling city neighbour, with lawns stretching along the cobbled beaches. That being said, the street that the school is on is filled with commercial eateries, shops and bars.

Getting around: The centre of Brighton is 25 minutes by foot from the school door. There is also a regular bus service that takes around 5 minutes to get to the edge of the city centre. In comparison, Hove is an 11-minute walk from Oxford International Brighton. Brighton Railway Station has a direct service to London, which takes around an hour. From the school, the train station is 20 minutes away.

Seeing the sights: The beach with its colourful beach huts and long pier is often a highlight for those visiting the city. This is 20 minutes away from the school by bus, a pleasant 30 minute stroll along the seafront. The Royal Pavilion and Brighton Museum & Art Gallery are centrally located within the city centre, so about 25 minutes by foot from Oxford International Education.

Courses: General English courses are taught in the morning or the afternoon, and are available in a range of intensities. An exam preparation course for the IELTS exam is taught at the school. In the summer holiday months Oxford International Education provides young learners with a package course, which is arranged through the school, but generally takes place in another location.

School extras: The school building has free wifi throughout and there is a social room and a computer room for students to use outside lessons. There is a university counselling service available for those who want to further their education.

School chain: Oxford International is a world-renowned educational provider with many language schools throughout Europe, North America and the United Kingdom. The schools are all equipped to teach the English language in a range of options that covers a wide spectrum of student’s learning needs. For those wanting to further their education, Oxford International Education partners with a number of universities in the UK and Europe.

“There was nothing I liked about this school. Everything was chaotic. My accommodation wasn't booked, lessons were in a different building which was a bus ride away and the teachers didn't even know we were coming. The lessons were so boring, we could have learnt twice that much in the same time”
Other comments: The school has a horrible organization. I can't recommend anyone to book a course there.

“A few teachers was good. Location is good too.”
Insider tip: “I booked for full day but I prefer morning and skill class is enough.
By the way, the city residence was very bad. The shared kitchens don’t have any windows and smell terrible. I prefer the host family. Also, my host was good. They were lovely people but some of my friends' host families were not good. However, you talk with the school and they can change the host family.”
Other comments: I didn’t like so much. I think school is average.

“The teaching program, the teachers”
Insider tip: “Preventive accomodation organization, electrical adapters, transfer from the accomodation to station”
Other comments: Excellent school, but they should improve the program of studies that is offered, it means more attention on the effective learning and the subsequent verification. From this point of view there was a little bit of superficiality, for the rest I I found it very good, both for the environment as per the social level.

"Rob and Denis were always sociable. They supported me when the school did not compromise at all. They even helped to fix a suitcase that broke down on the way to the airport. The only thing I didn't like was the breakfast. And the fact that according to the rules of the school - you cannot cook and use the microwave. It came as a surprise to me, because no one informed me about this in advance and I hoped to cook for myself, but it turned out that I coudn´t even warm up the food. Also, I didn’t like that the family decided on their own when the washing would take place and filled the machine themselves, this is not hygienic. And I was also not warned about this, so I could have taken more things and linen.

The evaluations by students after they complete a course is excellent. The discount for using your website is also a great incentive. It also would be wonderful if the website would include more cities and a bigger selection of schools in each city.

The service of languagecourse.net is great, I booked already 3 schools and I can highly recommend it. In fact, I tell everybody I meet on my journey in South America about this website and how well everything is organized.
Gabriele Ragger verified client
I am very satisfied. I found more/relevant information on your webpage than on the school's website itself. It is the cheapest offer. I'm going to book my next course on your site soon.

Your service was excellent, really following up and holding my hand.! My older step-brother used your service a few years ago to study Spanish in Salamanca and Granada and we found LanguageCourse.Net so helpful then as well.

Just keep up the good work. The organization is excellent, so that even less experienced travellers would feel ok to come to China. I also felt really good in the host family, they were really great!
