What we dislike about the school
  • Lessons are 45 minutes long, which is shorter than in other schools.

Location: Kings is right in the heart of the city of Oxford, opposite St Peter’s College. The centre of the city is filled with restaurants, bars, cafes and shops. There is a cinema at the end of one side of the road and a shopping centre at the other.

Enjoying Oxford: All the main features of the city are found in the inner circle of the city. Due to its location, this means that most things are very accessible by foot from the Kings. For trips outside the city, Oxford’s main train station is 10 minutes by foot from the school. From here, students can visit the surrounding cities as well as reach the capital city in under an hour.

Course: There are compact and intensive courses that cover the basics of the English language. Cambridge and IELTS exams are covered in exam preparation courses, which are designed to help students pass these well known English exams. For those wanting to further their education in the English language and need to gain certification to enter a University, Kings has a foundation course, diploma package and an academic programme, all to prepare students for this transition into student life.

Holiday programmes: In the summer holiday months, the school has created junior packages for younger learners.

School facilities: The facilities at Kings in Oxford include a student lounge, hotspot computer access, a computer centre with Apple Ipads and wifi throughout.

Other comments: The management's behavior is more than mediocre and despicable. It is clear that they care more about profitability, and money than the quality of education. They count the numbers of hours of classes to set the level of the students. It seems more of a company than a school. There are no adult classes, all ages are mixed, it filled the classroom to reach the maximum level of students rather than the exact level of each. One of the teachers has left us and let us know that it was because of the number of students that went downhill. Personally, I've left the course one week earlier because the teaching was so boring. Lot's of students in my class want to leave the school, but as they have already paid in advance, they are stuck !!!!! I feel like I have wasted my time for nothing !!!!!!! I regret enormously. We can not make progress with such education. Students realize that teachers are wrong often enough!

“Unfortunately, there's no CAS for English courses. CAS and a student visa are only available for academic students, studying for at least a year.

“The minimum required age at the school is 16 years. You can attend the general English course, which is a mixed-age group course. The junior programme is available from the beginning of July and students have to book at least two weeks, therefore it's not possible to combine the two programmes. ”
