What we dislike about the school
- Course materials are an extra cost per level.
Location: The school is located in North Oxford, close to Port Meadow and sandwiched between the River Thames and the River Cherwell. It is within easy walking distance of the city centre and surrounded by places of cultural and natural interest. University colleges are scattered throughout the neighbourhood, and there are bars and restaurants nearby.
Getting around Oxford: The main hub of Oxford is 20 minutes by foot from the school, or a 10 minute bus ride. The buses leave regularly for this route. Oxford city centre is easily walkable, with most of the commercial shops, supermarkets, city activities and historical monuments all within this quarter of the city. The main central train station is 20 minutes by bus from The Oxford English Centre for travelling to nearby cities. There is a direct line to London which takes an hour.
Course selection: The school provides popular General English courses along with a wide variety of Specialist English courses. As a popular destination for individual and group study, it offers social activities every day of the week as a part of the standard course, so it's easy to make friends of different nationalities in and out of the classroom.
School facilities: Students can use the following facilities whilst studying at The Oxford English Centre; a library, an IT lab, free wifi throughout the building, board games, garden and patio, foosball table, table tennis and a karaoke system.

What is the difference between a normal homestay with a private bathroom (ensuite) and an upscale homestay?
“The difference between Executive and Ensuite is that the Executive is an ensuite (single room + private bathroom) at walking distance from the school, while Ensuite (single room + private bathroom) could be at about 25 minutes by bus from school. ”

“The school Oxford International Study Centre in Oxford does not offer group lessons for the BEC Exam but, they will be happy to organize private lessons tailored to your specific needs. You can combine private lessons with General English Lessons in a group. By booking the general English course you will study all aspects of the language - studying grammar and having discussions, focusing on the core components of reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Then, with the private lessons, you can concentrate on the BEC exam and study specific topics related to the exam.”
