What our students said about Jaco Beach
Jacó beach is great – even if you don't surf, the waves are fantastic. There is also plenty to see and do in the area. It is quite touristy, which is unfortunately reflected in the prices – the price level is quite similar to that in Germany. But there are lots of good restaurants and shopping opportunities. And there is also plenty to explore in the area.
This is a tourist village, but in November it was empty until the American holidaymakers arrived for Thanksgiving week... Everything revolves around these Americans, so prices are high, even at the supermarket... Security is tough for me. Don't walk alone after 17:30 (sunset). In the evening, you can eat well and go out.
As a city, it is not very interesting (as is the case with other cities in Costa Rica), but the beach is quite nice and there is a lot to do around it. Jacó is also a good starting point for other towns/beaches/parks.
It's okay, but rather expensive (all of Costa Rica) and has a lot of men whistling after you ... Very hot and lots of rubbish on the streets. It was good for the time, but I wouldn't go there again now :)
Night life is very popular. The beach is ok, but there are nicer ones. It is difficult to swim in the sea, but good to surf (waves). It's very hot in Jacó Beach! (In June, by all means)
It's an ugly place, but the beach is beautiful, you can buy everything you need and it's very safe.
Touristy and a bit dirty, but overall ok and centrally located for excursions.

The teachers are always in a good mood, there is always a great atmosphere in the school and although the lessons are sometimes relaxed you learn a lot. The afternoon trips are very expensive, but the free cooking classes were great.
