Location: Tamwood Junior Summer Camp is located within the University of California Campus. The Los Angeles campus is in the Westwood neighborhood of the city, to the west of the city. Westwood is a mixture of fancy residential areas and a student city. Around the campus there are commercial shops, well known eateries and cafes.
Getting around: Westwood Village centre is a short walk from the campus. There are lots of bus stations around the centre, with routes that stretch across Los Angeles. The closest Subway Station, Westwood / Rancho Park Station, is 11 minutes by bus from the campus. To get to the centre of Los Angeles, it takes just over an hour by public transportation.
The campus: The University of California has a number of sports facilities that students can use during their stay. There is a swimming pool, sports fields, tennis courts, volleyball nets, a rock climbing wall and a gym.
Social activities: The full programme includes a social programme with day time activities, evening events and full excursions to nearby attractions.
The residence: Student’s will share a room with other students from different nationalities to ensure that English is the shared language. A laundry service is provided. There is 24-hour security by both the Tamwood live-in staff and the security on the campus. From 22:00 to 06:00 there is security at the campus entrance.
