Hispania, escuela de español is an educational center that offers different courses of Spanish (ELE) and Spanish culture, and other subjects for international students. It opened its doors in 2002 and since then, more than 40,000 students have learned Spanish in our Spanish school. Hispania, escuela de español is accredited by the Instituto Cervantes and by EAQUALS, Excellence in Language Education, and in recent years has won dozens of awards for its great work and has received numerous recognitions, making it one of the world leaders in the "Study Abroad" sector for learning Spanish. The Hispania Method allows students to learn the language in a happy way, this method makes Hispania, Spanish language school receives every year thousands of students wishing to learn Spanish. The quality of the classes is the great strength of the school.
Hispania, escuela de español is located in a unique and privileged environment. Hispania, escuela de español has 4 villas, "Las casitas de los periodistas", where students can enjoy not only the classes, all of them equipped with the most modern technology, but also leisure areas: beautiful terraces, a cinema, a library and a private cafeteria. This infrastructure helps enormously to feel a unique experience among the students who learn our language and culture and enjoy at the same time in an environment where students from more than 80 different countries live together.
Hispania, escuela de español launched in 2020 Hispania Online, a virtual space where students learn Spanish from anywhere in the world following the Hispania Method.
Our school also has an extensive and rich cultural and leisure program, carried out by a cultural manager and official guide.
In order to create a complete experience and to facilitate the search for our students, we also offer an accommodation service.

And the teacher wasn't always able to step aside from the whiteboard because it was almost as wide as the classroom. Because the classrooms weren't very large it was more difficult to sit away from another student who might have been a little too encroaching in personal habits.”

The school is centrally located; the park across the street is perfect for lunch breaks; the cafeteria serves good coffee and snacks; the technology is top-notch; and the front desk is always staffed and friendly. “At my request to change to a higher level, I was immediately placed in another course. The teachers were very committed, gave varied lessons and explained very well.”
Other comments: Communication between students and school was poor. We were assigned a room on the first day, nothing more was explained. It was not said which language level the course had, what the procedure is (change of teacher, structure of lessons, e.g. grammar, conversation, change of room, ...) we were not told that we had to change rooms in between, what you could see into the computer at one in the entrance area. However, no reference was made to this either. Since there were only words in my course that had lived in Valencia for a long time, they naturally knew their way around. A few pointers in advance would have made the whole thing easier. Since I was in various other language schools in Spain, where things went much better, I noticed this disadvantage in particular. Nonetheless, the lessons were very good.

Quality of teaching / language progress: I absolutely enjoyed myself thoroughly and learned so much in the month that I spent here. Andrea is the best teacher ever! Although I am not as fluent as I hoped to be, its really about the will of the student and the timing. I believe that with a little more time and consistency I can get so much better. Hispania attracts and creates a certain energy which I love! I made so many friends from all over the world. Best month ever!

"Accommodation is not very good. John did not have WiFi in his room, this would be arranged, but never arranged. When we arrived the shower was completely green dirt. Fortunately, this has been cleaned. John also had a slumped bed: John got a new mattress, but it was very gross.

"I was hoping to have dinner with the host family and practice Spanish. However, the family don't eat with us so I ended up using English to talk with another student in the house all the time. Breakfast is too simple for me, toast and jam every day... I heard my friend had bocadillo and cheese for breakfast so I think it's depends on family though.

"It's a great house which I shared with 4 other people. I love the barrio of Benimaclet. It's not as expensive as being in the centre and it feels very local. I only wish that they would send a cleaner in more regularly. I think in the month I was there the common toilets and areas were only cleaned once.

"When the outside temperature dropped below 10 degrees, it got quite cold and damp inside the room.
The desk chair was very wobbly. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint.
Other amenities were good. Many of the pots and pans provided don’t work on an induction stove.
But the value for money was perfectly fine.

How are the lessons structured?
“At Hispania, each two-hour lesson is independent of the following one. This means that every session covers its own specific grammar, vocabulary, and communication goals. Because of this structure, students taking 4, 6, 10, or 20 hours per week may share the same class, as each session is specifically prepared for the students in attendance.”

Do I have to book the airport transfer or can I make my own arrangements?
“When booking the course with accommodation, you can currently (end of 2024) choose between 3 types of arrival. Standard, Smart, Deluxe.
For Standard, the key must be collected from the school. Regardless of whether the accommodation type is shared flat or host family. This is possible Mon-Fri from 9:00 to 18:00 and at weekends from 18:00 to 20:00. There are no costs involved. This is best suited to the plan to organise your own travel.
For Smart, possible Saturday and Sunday, check-in can be done directly at the accommodation, between 10:00 and 14:00.

“In this case I recommend Hispania, they have the option for a combination course of 20 Spanish lessons per week with some tennis lessons. What is the difference between the intensive, extensive and combination courses?
“Intensive courses are group courses with a minimum of 10-20 Spanish lessons per week. Extensive courses have less than 10 Spanish lessons per week and can be booked for a minimum of 4 weeks. A combination course offers group lessons + private lessons per week. One lesson is 55 minutes at Hispania. ”

We have somewhat different language levels, so I assume we will end up in different groups. But I hope those classes take place simultaneously (preferably in the mornings), so we can spend the afternoons going out together.
