What we like about the school
- School is housed in a beautiful 19th-century Andalusian palace with many balconies.
- Free activities: City tour, Paseo del Muelle Uno, Centro Pompidou and more.
- Andalusian patio and indoor lounge areas.
- Apartment - shared / Residence accommodation very close to school
- Excellent nationality mix. No student nationality makes up more than 15% of students.
What we dislike about the school
- Highly priced one-to-one classes.
Location: Don Quijote Malaga is a Spanish language institute located in the popular destination of Malaga, in Spain's Andalusian region. Renowned as being the birthplace and home of Spanish Painter Pablo Picasso, amongst other things Malaga is ripe with historic and cultural sites and places of interest. The school is in the centre, housed in a 19th-century Andalusian Palace within walking distance of many bars, restaurants, amenities, and attractions. Such sites within walking distance of the school include the birthplace and home of Pablo Picasso, The Museo Picasso Malaga, the Alcazaba Fortress, Plaza de Toros, Parque de Malaga, Playa la Malagueta, the Mercado Central de Atarazanas, the Catedral de la Encarnación de Málaga, and much more.
Social and culutral: Don Quijote Malaga provides regular free activities and city tours to places such as the Paseo del Muelle Uno, Centro Pompidou, Alcazaba, and Gibralfaro Castle.
Getting around: There is a lot to see and do within walking distance of the school. Walking the charming streets of Malaga is something that will come highly recommended to students of Don Quijote. For any trips or excursions further afield, the school is around a 25-minute walk from the Malaga Maria Zambrano Train Station and a 40-minute journey via public transport or a 20-minute taxi ride from the Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport.

- Generally, course material has to be purchased by all students at the school. The costs of course material will be approximately €45 per course level.

Health Insurance (mandatory for students under 18 and for Internship Programs):
- EUR 25 per week: when visa is not needed.
- EUR 15 per week: for students who need a visa (between 14 and 35 years old, with a minimum stay of 3 months).
Changes: - Before arrival: Changes to your confirmed booking (start dates, program, or services) can be made up to 2 weeks before your arrival. Two changes is free of charge. After the 2nd change, each change will be charged: EUR 100.
- After arrival: Change of destination, school, program, or accommodation: EUR 100. Subject to availability. Any difference in price will be charged to the student. Does not apply to summer camps. 4 weeks of advance notice is required.
Cancellation Guarantee
Any cancellation before and after arrival: EUR 75 per week.
Allows students to cancel program for any reason (I.e., examination, work, illness, visa issues...). Does not apply to private apartments or hotels.
Class schedule: on your first day it'll be decided if your class takes place in the morning or in the afternoon. To 100% guarantee morning classes, there's a EUR 15 fee per week.

- Single individual lessons of tuition can be reserved at 49 €. The combination of group and individual lessons is highly recommended. Individual lessons will encourage you to actively speak the foreign language and will offer you the opportunity to discuss individual problems and weaknesses.

"The flat we booked was described differently online and had some shortcomings. The first thing we noticed on arrival was how badly cleaned it was and that some of the beds were dirty (hair, dirt streaks). In addition, the hot water did not work in the whole flat for the first three days. There were also small problems such as a non-functioning fridge, no rags, noodle strainers and clean and not bent pans in the kitchen. Inexplicably, the balcony or terrace promised to us was also locked and the clothes horse, which you need for washing and hanging up towels, was provocatively placed on the closed terrace. There were no contact persons on site to deal with these problems. Laura, the only contact person, was nowhere to be found and didn't even speak English. One person who did make our holiday better was Martin. He took care of many things and was always available. He made sure that the cleaning was done again and took care of the problem with the hot water. Many thanks to Martin!

"Beds were dirty. Room was not cleaned. Only one socket for 4 people. No cloth in the kitchen. Terrace where there was a clothes horse was blocked off. Pans dirty and worn. Overall impossible to live and sleep there nicely.
