Venue: Cebu International Academy is located in the City of Lapu-Lapu, in Cebu province, on the island of Mactan. Lapu-Lapu City is referred to as a historic resort city, and much of the coastal area surrounding CIA is devoted to resorts, but the city is also well-known in the Philippines for its guitar makers. The Mactan-Cebu International Airport (CEB), the second largest airport in the country, is a 25 minute drive or a 55 minute trip by public transportation from the school.

The School: CIA has been devoted to teaching English for more than twenty years and is associated with several educational institutions in both the Philippines and South Korea. They offer ESL training in group and personalised private classes as well as specialised courses in business training and preparation for various English certification exams.

Facilities: Cebu International Academy is housed in a purpose built, resort-style campus on the outskirts of the city between the Mactan and Maribago districts. Students have everything right on campus: a dining hall, convenience store, fitness centre, swimming pool, basketball court, outdoor stage, library/study hall, music/karaoke room, café bar, and a recreation room. Accommodation options in the residence include single, double, triple or quad rooms, with full board and twice weekly laundry service.

On-site fun: Cebu International Academy runs a full programme of weekly activities which can include talent shows, tropical fruit parties, zumba classes, basketball, badminton, celebrations of seasonal festivals, and speech contests.

Important: These extra fees must be paid once the student arrives at the school in the Philippines in the local PHP currency:

  • Airport pick up, one-way, regardless of holidays: PHP 1000 (Saturday and Sunday), PHP 1500 (Mon to Fri).

  • Textbook fee: PHP 2000 (depends on course).
  • SSP Card (Special Student Permit for students to stay in the Philippines to study): PHP 8000.
  • SSP E-Card (alien registration card attached to SSP, compulsory to all students regardless of study duration): PHP 4500.
