What we dislike about the school
- Older students should consider that the average age of students at this school is significantly younger than at most other schools.
- Do not offer favorable cancellation terms in the case of a student getting a visa rejected.
Location: The school is located in the east of Eastbourne city centre. The area is a quiet residential part of the town. It backs onto Compton Park and is a short walk to Eastbourne’s Old Town.
Getting around: The central Eastbourne Train Station is a 15-minute walk from Twin School. There are trains to nearby cities and towns such as Brighton, Lewes and Hastings. Direct trains to London leave every half an hour and take about an hour and a half to the capital city. The town itself is easily walkable. There are regular bus services to the attractions further outside the city centre, such as the Eastbourne Sovereign Harbour Area, as well as to the surrounding towns and neighbourhoods.
Local attractions: Eastbourne itself has a beautiful beachfront and a large shopping centre in the centre of the town. Eastbourne Pier is a 20-minute walk from Twin School.
Course structure: Twin School has a wide variety of general English courses and IELTS exam preparation classes. The school also offers communication skill modules as an extra to a general English course or as a part-time programme. There are specific English courses for those wanting to further their careers by perfecting the use of the language within their sector. “Nice atmosphere, good teachers.”
“There were no leisure activities for regular students, only for long-term students or summer school participants. I felt particularly sorry for the younger participants who didn't want to do so much on their own. There was no course at my level, C1/C2. I had to take a B2 course and only received a B2 certificate. But I would have needed one for at least C1.”
