Location: Les ateliers FL Paris is located in the bustling city of creativity, Paris, France. Housed between the Batignolles district and the 8th & 9th Arrondissements of Paris, the school is close to many attractions such as the Palais Garnier, the Galeries Lafayette Haussmann, the Sacré-Cœur church and much more. There are many eateries, quaint bistros, restaurants, shops, theatres and links to public transport nearby.
Getting around: The school is a short walk from the Saint-Lazare train station (5 minutes) and has a range of bus, taxi and subway stations nearby, ensuring that such sites of interest as the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral and more are all within a 30-35 minute journey of the school via public transport.
The features of Paris: Les ateliers FL Paris is in a good position to visit all that Paris has to offer. The Panthéon is a 7-minute walk from the school, whilst the Eiffel Tower is about half an hour by public transportation.
Course selection: Group, Private and a combination of the two are the options at Les ateliers FL Paris to study general French classes. The school has exam preparation courses for the DALF or the DELF exams. There are options to add to a general course in French including gastronomy, fashion, an internship and a paid job.
Social activities: Every week Les ateliers FL Paris holds a neighbourhood visit, a cinema club and a board games night or a food tasting event. All the students at the school can join these activities and it is a great opportunity to practise French.
Les ateliers FL Paris shares its premises with the International House Paris.

On the one hand, I’m all for inter-generational contact. On the other, their aims and personal commitment are very different.

"Whatever kind of continental breakfast it is, it shouldn't be just toast, butter and jam every day. There can be fruit, cereal, cheese, croissant etc.etc...none of which requires any preparation.
I really did not expect to sleep on an uncomfortable convertible couch on the floor with bunch of storage furniture- baby carriage, storage trunk etc. in the room. The room got freezing cold to study when the outside temp went down to 4 degrees C. Requested for some kind of heating unit was refused. Bathroom was another story, the shower head was so old that all the water spread out everywhere. Since there was no barrier except a small side glass, over a tub, all the water went to the floor and all over. The house owner put a some kind of carpet to collect the water but because it did not dry at all overnight, the whole place stank...
I was looking into being with a French family to see their life style, and be a part of it. In this case, the family(?) that I stayed with was to give as little as possible but make the most of the financial arrangement with the school. It is unfortunate that a lot of the students coming are young and would not comment on any aspect of their homestay!

I want to go to France to learn French and I would like to stay for a year. Will I be able to get approved for a year-long student visa through this programme or any other programmes available? When I was researching the student visa, it looked like you need to take an intensive course, at least 20 hours each week. With the France Langue Norte Dame programme (20 sessions, 45 mins each) that would only be 15 hours a week. Is that still suitable?
