Venue: As they say in the film industry, location, location, location, that is Malibu in a nutshell. Kings - Young Learners Centre in Malibu is in one of the best locations on America’s Pacific coast. Based at Pepperdine University, Kings - Young Learners Centre has the good fortune to be on one of the United States’ most beautiful university campuses. With the Santa Monica Mountains as a backdrop and a full view of the sea, students can take in the California sunshine in a safe environment just miles away from busy Los Angeles.
Programmes: All programmes at Kings - Young Learners Centre start with a base of 15 weekly hours of English classes, a busy agenda of activities on campus, as well as beach outings, and excursions to nearby attractions in L.A. and beyond. Students on one of the residential plans are housed in on-campus residences in double or triple rooms and have a full-board meal plan in the campus dining facilities.
Plus Activities: Students at Kings - Young Learners Centre in Malibu can follow their passion and opt for a more focused afternoon activity programme if they like. In addition to the standard programme they can choose to learn how to surf with a qualified instructor or study film for a behind-the-scenes experience and a better understanding of the workings of a film studio.
Getting there: Malibu is about 47 miles from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and travel time by taxi is approximately 50 minutes.
School chain: Kings was founded in 1957 and has a number of well established English language schools in both the UK and USA. This junior program is held on the campus of Pepperdine University, just 40 miles from L.A.X. Airport. It includes 15 hours of English per week, room and board, plus a full program of sports, activities and 3 full-day excursions.
Note: The arrival day for this program is Wednesday. English classes are held three days a week alternating with the full day excursions.
