Location: Trieste Language School is located in the capital city of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region of northeastern Italy, Trieste. A port city, Trieste offers much history and medieval and neoclassical touches throughout. Trieste Language School is centrally located, ensuring students can enjoy the area to its fullest. The school is housed in the historic city centre, within a moment's walk of fascinating sites such as the Trieste Roman Amphitheatre, Piazza della Borsa, Piazza Unità d'Italia, several museums, the port and much more. There are also many amenities, eateries, cafes, bars and restaurants nearby.
Course selection: The school provides a range of General Italian courses which are taught in a group, individually or in combination programmes of both. Group programmes are available to students of all levels, with specific starting dates for complete beginners.
Getting around: The most used public transport in the city is the bus, as this is the only on-land public transport that moves within the city. The closest bus stop is within 200m of the school's front doors. Trieste train station is within a 20-minute walk of the school.
Accommodation: Homestay accommodation with local host families can be arranged via the school and is subject to availability.
Social and cultural: Trieste has a vast history. Due to its location close to the borders of Slovenia, Croatia, Austria and Hungary, there are many Slovenian and Austro-Hungarian influences seen throughout the city.

“There is a very pleasant, relaxed atmosphere at the school, the teachers are all extremely helpful and very competent in the lessons. Marina, who organises everything, speaks perfect German and you can turn to her with any questions. The afternoon excursions were great, sometimes to places that you wouldn't necessarily think of as a tourist. We asked for an osmiza in the first week and Marina had already organised a visit for the second week.”
“The only thing is that the school can only be reached via several steps or a bumpy alley. This could be difficult for people who walk badly, but then another city would be better than hilly Trieste anyway.”

"Sergio, who was my host, is a kind and helpful man. I had a large room and a bathroom. It was tidy everywhere. Every morning we had coffee together,he talked with me a lot. He is one of the nicest people I know.

"I was staying with a "signora", she was very friendly, but unfortunately the flat and my room were not very clean. Especially the bathroom was dirty. However, I was allowed to use the fridge and the kitchen if I wanted to cook something. So I cannot rate the meals, I booked the accommodation without meals.

Daily classes from Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 10:30 and from 11:00 to 12:30, for 3 hours a day. There is a maximum of 10 students per class (depending on the classroom size). In case there are more students for one level than what is allowed, the school will split the group in two and some lessons in this case may be held in the afternoon, in the time span from 13:00 to 16:30.
