What we dislike about the school
- It is at least a 15-minute walk to the city centre.
Location: The school is located just on the outskirts of the second inner ring of Chengdu. It is in the south of the city, 15 minutes from Shenxianshu Park and the Xiaojia River. It is a quiet neighbourhood with a smattering of cafes and restaurants.
Getting around: The streets around the school are lined with bus stops. The centre of Chengdu is a 20-minute drive from Hutong School.
Local attractions: Chengdu’s attractions are in the north of the city. The Wenshu Yuan Monastery is at the top of the inner centre of the city, a 23-car ride from Hutong School. 20 minutes by car from the school, to the north west of Chengdu, is the Jinsha Site Museum Tourist Center. Dujiangyan Irrigation System and Qingcheng Shan are both outside the main hub of the city, an hour and 20 by car from Hutong School.
Course structure: Hutong School in Chengdu has an intensive programme that can be taken with or without accommodation. The intensive programme is created in set week duration blocks to ensure that students are able to study for a decent amount of time to immerse themselves in their learning. The school has an internship that combines a general Chinese course with an internship experience.
