Location: Nestled in the heart of the city of Barcelona is BCN Metropol Language School. The school is in a prime location, minutes away from Plaça de Catalunya, the central hub of the city.
Getting around: There are excellent transport connections located around the school. The metro station Urquinaona is just 5 minutes walk from the entrance and is connected to Line 1 (red) and Line 4 (yellow) whilst Passeig de Gracias metro line is just around the corner from BCN Metropol Language School and links to Line 2 (purple) and Line 3 (green). From these two metro stations, students can visit all the top attractions in Barcelona including Montjuic, Sagrada Familia and Arco de Triunfo.
City features Barcelona is known for its spectacular summers and the beach is a hot spot for locals and visitors alike. Students can choose to jump on Line 4 (yellow), catch a bus from Plaça de Catalunya or walk 30 minutes and find themselves basking in the Mediterranean sun. The school itself has plenty to see and do in its neighbourhood with bars, restaurants, supermarkets, shops and a cinema all close by.
School facilities: The classrooms in the school are all fitted with air conditioning units which are essential in the height of the summer months and have plenty of natural light. The school also has a library, a movie room, a student support desk and high-speed wifi for students to use during opening hours.
Course structure: The Spanish classes come in a range of different durations at BCN Metropol Language School so that students can pick the one that fits in with their daily schedule and each course includes a certificate of completion.
Teaching style: The teachers use a communicative approach to learning, concentrating on reinforcing the natural strategies that we create by the consistent and effective practice of communicating with Spanish. The class sizes are so that the students can learn through this approach with practical group work whilst at the same time being small enough for good student-teacher ratios.
Social activities: BCN Metropol Language School organises a weekly trip to visit a local attraction in Barcelona. Students are encouraged to converse in Spanish with their peers and interact with the locals during the trip to reinforce the language taught to them in class. This interaction outside class supports the communicative classroom approach and will really help students to learn Spanish at a faster pace.
