What we dislike about the school
- Average age of students is a bit higher than at most schools. Great for students 25 years or older.
Location: Ailola Spanish School Amazon Jungle is a language institute based in the unique and profound setting of the Amazon Jungle in Ecuador. the school is housed in an Eco lodge which can be reached via flight followed by an hour canoe journey, or via bus from Quito, followed by an hour's canoe journey. The lodge contains all the amenities that a student may need to have a comfortable and enjoyable time whilst learning Spanish and becoming involved with the local culture and traditions.
School facilities: The school facilities include hot showers, fantastic and unique study spaces, private bathrooms, all study materials and tasty meals and beverages.
Social and cultural: Aspects of the programmes at Ailola Spanish School Amazon Jungle which are unique to the school and location include meeting and getting to know the local Quichuas del Oriente, making traditional baskets, learning an appreciation for the forest and getting to know the local medicinal plants, birds and wildlife and visiting a local rescue centre.
Getting around: Students are met by the teacher on arrival in Quito and are taken to the Quito bus station with the said teacher, who shall be their travel companion. There is a one-night stay in Coca until the eco-lodge's staff come via canoe to collect all passengers and escort them on a 1-hour canoe journey to the eco-lodge facilities.
