"The French classes were productive."
Negative aspects
"Not correct supervision. Hours of “free time” whereby the students were left alone off campus to entertain themselves. My child had an accident on the island and there was no leader there to assist her."

Positive aspects of school
"The teachers (I had four in the adult program) were very good—some were outstanding—and were always motivating and empathetic. Success in learning is (almost) guaranteed. I had a lot of fun. The school’s location (for adults, right by the harbor, at the second campus) was very pleasant. The high-quality technical equipment (smartboards) is also worth mentioning."
Negative aspects
"The facilities could be improved (small rooms, only seats with folding desks); a water fountain or a coffee machine would also be nice. Personally, I found the long break between the core classes in the morning (until 12:20) and the afternoon small-group classes in the intensive program (2:00–4:00) a bit inconvenient. If you want to go on excursions, you should opt for the additional one-on-one lessons (12:30–1:30 p.m.)."

"Great team."
City/place
"A very attractive seaside location with a charming old town. However, the view is sometimes obstructed by huge yachts, and the vast tracts of land at Cap Antibes are privately owned and therefore off-limits to the public. Unfortunately, the region isn’t particularly suitable for cycling either."

"The long break between the morning and afternoon classes can only be put to good use when the weather is nice (which isn't always the case); outside of peak season, there's not much of the day left after that."

"It was very close to my house I went to the location at the port. And I liked the classmates from all kinds of countries.the student card allowed you to have a lot of discounts in museums...."
Negative aspects
"We were 11 students in class, an excessive number for oral practice.
The teacher did not use new technologies and hardly used the blackboard, we corrected the exercises by voice which, given the French spelling, created confusion as to whether you had the correct correction."

"The location was good, whether in the city or in the Château, because it was easy to get there by bus. I could even get there in 10 minutes. I was in the city in 30 minutes on foot. The lessons are good. The teachers explain well and French is ALWAYS spoken. New words are always explained, not translated."
Negative aspects
"The week we had classes at the Château, we only had chairs with a tiny folding table on them. There is no space at all. Real desks would be better. The language level of the students in one class was too different. A2 and B2 together is difficult. Information about the buses and prices to the students would be helpful."

Quality of teaching / language progress
"My daughter had very limited (near zero) knowledge of French when she arrived, and so was placed in the beginners’ group. However, according to my daugher the teachers just spoke quickly in French most of the time and asked the pupils to repeat, or to copy what she wrote on the blackboard. Hardly a pedagogical way to teach beginners a new language."

Positive aspects of school
"I thought it was well-organised and well-equipped, and the staff, both teaching staff and others, were friendly and helpful."
Details of the review
City/place
"It's an attractive town with an interesting history, a picturesque old part of town, a town beach and other beaches nearby, plenty of shops and it is convenient for public transport to other places in the area."
Quality of teaching / language progress
"The course level was the right one for me. The teacher gave clear explanations, the texts, audio and visual material used were interesting and the teaching was lively and at times amusing. My only criticism of the lessons is that pair work, which would have given us more opportunities to speak, was used only once in the two weeks.
There were no afternoon activities apart from a walk into town on the first day to show us around Antibes and there were no excursions."
Accommodation
"The residence I was in, Aragon residence, was 20mins walk from the school on foot without the possibility of getting to the school by public transport. It was in Juan-les-Pins, which is rather less convenient than Antibes for getting to the school, for bus transport (Antibes is a hub for bus services in the area), for shops and for the evening. For me, the only advantage Juan-les-Pins had was its beach.
My room was a reasonable size - in fact it was a double room - but there was no comfortable seating and very little space to put things down on: just 3 very small shelves and a very small table. With the cooking facilities it was possible to do very little except warm things up and perhaps make a simple pasta dish.
On the positive side there were tables on the patio around the residence building at which you could sit more comfortably than in the room and the person supervising the residence was very helpful if you had any problems or needed information."

The studio at Castel Arabel was dark and damp.

Positive aspects of school
"I attended both the château campus and the port and I loved the location of both. The château school is a beautiful building with an amazing view of the mountains, while the port is right on top of an Irish pub, in the main part of town, and right next to Port Vauban and the beach (although it is a bit further from the Castel Arabel residence, but I enjoyed the walk). I also loved my teacher Céline and the small class environment, I felt I learned so much as well as getting to know everybody. The town of Antibes is so lovely, and Juan-les-pins too. Living at the student residence was an awesome experience and I met so many cool people."
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
"Make the most of it! Do your homework, speak up in class, get to know the other students in your class and at the residence, and explore the beautiful surroundings of Antibes and the nearby towns."

"I am a disorganised person myself so it did not bother me too much but the company did seem a little disorganised. On my second week on Wednesday, I was moved into a different class that was far too hard for me with no warning or explanation, but thankfully by the end of the week they realised this and placed me in a more suitable class with my first teacher again."
