What we dislike about the school

Location: Nacel English School is located in the cosmopolitan and diverse city of London, England. The school can be found in North London, only a two minute walk away from Finchley Central Underground Station, with supermarkets, restaurants, accommodation and green spaces such as Victoria Park, all close by. The city centre of London can be reached by Underground within 40 minutes, meaning students can enjoy the beautiful local surroundings of North London, whilst having the attractions of the centre of the city only a short train ride away.
School facilities: The school, with over 30 years of teaching experience, has fantastic facilities for students to engage in their lessons as well as in their free time. These facilities include a kitchen for student use, a library, a movie room, a lounge, a terrace and free after-class language learning software. A Student Support Desk is available for any questions, queries or concerns that students may have, ensuring that all feel comforted in the school's welcoming and thriving atmosphere.
Course selection: Nacel English School has a wide variety of courses available to students of all levels and schedules. General English courses can be taken in the short or long term, with evening and weekend schedules also available. Exam preparation courses for Cambridge exams (FCE, CAE, CPE) and the IELTS exam are readily available throughout the year as well as more specific courses such as Teacher Training Refresher Courses and English for Specific Purposes.

“It was a very busy period for the school, so it had to rent locations outside the main school building. We had lessons in the church, where the conditions were poor, it was cold inside, bad furniture, dirty toilets.”

“The administration (Makiko, Barbara and Nick) is very friendly and accommodating. They showed themselves to be very flexible when I had to switch to online classes. The school is small and very personal, which I liked a lot. You felt very welcome and realized that it was important to Makiko and Nick that you feel comfortable. The Realia Course could not be carried out as announced, which is why we were offered a replacement solution (private lessons).”
“Unfortunately, the school doesn't actually offer CPE (C2) courses and General Language Courses at C2 level. I was in a C2 course for the first two weeks, after which it was combined with the Advanced course. Since we mainly did exam preparation in the general language courses, it was a waste of time (I passed the C1 exam over a year ago). I would recommend students at level C2 to go to a larger school. I couldn't really improve. For Elementary and Intermediate students, however, the school is highly recommended as it has small groups and cares a lot about the well-being of the students.”
