Venue: Magic Talk Academy is located about forty minutes away from the centre of the mega-metropolis that is Istanbul. More precisely, they are in the Mecidiyeköy neighbourhood of the Sisli district on the European side of Istanbul. Near the Otoyol 1 city ring, the school has easy access to the rest of the city, by car, bus, and subway. The district is renowned for its wide variety of shops and is home to Europe’s largest shopping centre, the Istanbul Cevahir Shopping and Entertainment Centre, which is only a 10-minute walk away from the school.
The Academy: Magic Talk Academy was born from the demand of foreign nationals living in the city who needed to learn Turkish, to better assimilate and function within their business or educational commitments that led them to Istanbul. Approved by the Ministry of Education, the school offers General Turkish lessons, Academic and Business Turkish classes, and a preparatory programme for the YÖS Entrance Exams for Turkish Universities. They are also an authorised exam centre for the TÖMER Certificate.
Extras: True to its original intentions of aiding foreigners in their efforts to assimilate, Magic Talk Academy runs a weekly programme of activities for students. Their experienced teachers organise reading clubs, movie clubs, etc., and excursions to the bazaar. The school also offers Turkish classes for kids ages 7 to 14, helping them too to fit in and communicate better with their peers.

“There are things you can only gain through in-person classes, such as making friends from diverse international backgrounds and even getting exposure to Turkish during break times.
The school also organised whole-class activities, like going to museums and cafés, which allowed me to gain real-life experience that I could use in my daily life in Turkey. I was also pleased that the tuition fee was more reasonable compared to other language schools.”
