Location: Kiswahili Na Utamaduni (Kiu) Arusha is located in the region of Arusha, in East African Tanzania. The school is housed in the Usa River (USSA) neighbourhood of the Meru District in Arusha. There are several amenities available close by, including pharmacies, the Usa-River Central Police station, tour operators for planning excursions, many hotels and lodgings and much more.
Getting around: There are several amenities and eateries within walking distance of the school. Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) is around a 30km drive from the school, ensuring travel between the airport and the school within 35 minutes via taxi or car. The best way to travel around Arusha is by Dala Dala, minibus-type vehicles that usually hold up to 20 passengers.
Course selection: Kiu Arusha supplies Swahili lessons to students of all levels over various schedules. In addition to lessons taught in groups, private tuition is also readily available in conjunction with, or independently from, other programmes. Courses have specific start dates each month.
Social and cultural: There are several tour operating companies close to the school, allowing students to book trips to many of the local sights and places of interest. Mt Kilimanjaro is around an 83 km journey from Arusha and the Arusha National Park Gate is within a 10km drive of the school's front doors.
