Location: Kings - Young Learners Centre Bath is based at Downside School in Stratton-on-the-Fosse, Somerset, which is located about twelve miles southwest of the city of Bath. Downside School was established in its current location at the start of the 19th century and it is the quintessential English boarding school, bringing to mind the well-known wizarding school of novels and film. The campus’ 500 acres is situated at the foot of the Mendip Hills. Its excellent facilities include several sports fields, a sports hall, a swimming pool, a large theatre, among other installations and a traditional, large dining hall.
Programmes: Kings - Young Learners Centre at Downside School offers English language summer programmes to international junior students from ages 8 through to 17 with optional extra activity programmes focused on Horse Riding, Droning, and Professional Tennis. All programmes include 15 hours a week of English classes and a wide range of activities, outings and excursions to nearby cities, towns and attractions.
Accommodation: Students at Kings - Young Learners Centre stay in student residences on campus, and have a full board meal plan on site (or packed lunches for excursions). Rooms can be single, twin or multi-bedded and bathroom facilities are shared.
Getting there: The closest international airport to Kings - Young Learners Centre Bath is Bristol International Airport (BRS) which is only 18 miles away. Travel time by car is just over half an hour. London’s Heathrow airport is more than 100 miles from the school, two and a half hours by car.
