Venue: The ILH Summer School in Framlingham is based at Framlingham College, near the Suffolk coast, in England. Framlingham is a market town with origins dating back to at least the 11th century as does the hilltop Castle which is just nearby. The school was founded in 1874 and its modern buildings blend well with the original Victorian school buildings. The large campus is equipped with excellent sports facilities which include a sports hall, a swimming pool, tennis installations, several pitches and playing fields, as well as a music hall, theatre, and science labs.
The Programme: ILH (International Language Holidays) Summer School at Framlingham College offers this residential programme to students from age 11 through 17. Alongside the 15 weekly hours of General English lessons, students participate in a wide range of daily activities which include many different sports, drama, arts and crafts, baking, drumming, and castle or museum visits as well evening social activities such as talent competitions, treasure hunts, murder mysteries, and much more. Each week students have one half-day and one full-day excursion to nearby towns and cities.
Accommodation: This residential summer school programme includes accommodation on site, in double or triple rooms. Students take their meals at the dining hall on campus. Framlingham College is known for its top quality boarding facilities; it has six houses, where participants on the programme reside, and which offer a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for all of its students. There is also a tuck shop at the school where students can buy snacks and drinks outside of meal times.
Getting there: Thanks to its location north of the city, London Stansted (STN) is the best choice of the London airports for arrival at Framlingham College. Travel time by car from Stansted to the school is approximately an hour and a half, while from Heathrow or Gatwick it is easily double that
