Location: ILC - International Language Centres Portsmouth is located in the fascinating port city of Portsmouth in southern England. The school is housed right in the city centre, within a moment's walk of several commercial centres, outlets, restaurants, eateries and attractions. The school is within walking distance of the Charles Dicken's Birthplace Museum, the Portsmouth Historic Dockland and the Mary Rose Museum. Victoria Park is across the road from the school.

Course selection: ILC Portsmouth has a range of courses suitable for all levels and various needs. In addition to General English programmes over several schedules and intensities, the school provides Exam Preparation programmes (IELTS, Cambridge) and One-to-one tuition throughout the year.

School facilities: The school facilities include 9 classrooms, a student lounge, a kitchen for student use and free WIFI.

Social and cultural: ILC Portsmouth run a varied social programme open to students every week. Activities can include visits to Southsea Beach, the Portsmouth Natural History Museum and Southsea Castle. Weekend excursions to Winchester, Oxford, London, the Isle of Wight, and Brighton are also regularly available.

Individual classes
Single individual lessons of tuition can be reserved at 65 £. The combination of group and individual lessons is highly recommended. Individual lessons will encourage you to actively speak the foreign language and will offer you the opportunity to discuss individual problems and weaknesses.

Aspex. A year-round programme of exhibitions of contemporary visual art, plus talks, screenings, performances and participatory workshops.

Adults - Paid activities

Spinnaker Tower. Abseiling. Experience an amazing adrenaline rush and take on a 100-metre descent down the side of Portsmouth’s iconic landmark.

Kings theatre. One of the premier theatres and cultural venues on the South Coast, showcasing a fantastic selection of major touring productions, hilarious comedy and a vibrant line-up of music, dance and cabaret - ranging from international artists to local favourites.

The Portsmouth Music Experience gallery exhibition is made up of video elements, audio content of Portsmouth bands performing and all the fantastic photographs that you would expect.

Junior - Free activities

Round tower. One of the biggest highlights for many visitors following the Millennium Promenade is taking in the views across Portsmouth Harbour from atop the Round Tower, looking out to Gosport and the Isle of Wight.

Fort Nelson is home to the Royal Armouries' national collection of artillery and historic cannons – the big guns – and is a great day out for all the family.

Portsmouth Natural History Museum. The Portsmouth Natural History Museum gives visitors a close view of a wide range of local wildlife, including marine life (at the aquarium) and butterflies.

Junior - Paid activities

Southsea Model Village. Marvel at the 1/12th scale Southsea Model Village, built in 1956, which features forty miniature buildings, houses, forts and castles, as well as a `G' scale garden railway.

Visa Documents

Nationals from USA do not require a visa to study short term courses up to 180 days. A valid passport and an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) is required to enter the UK. The application for the ETA is done online https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta. The answer is expected within 3 working days, costing GBP 20. The ETA allows multiple entries in the country for up to 6 months for a maximum of 2 years or until the passport used when applying expires.
Check visa requirements for nationals from other countries.
Nationals from countries that require a visa will receive documents from the school, related to booking confirmation, which is required for the visa application.
