Location: Hutong School is to the west of Shanghai, in the Jing’an District. It is known as a trendy part of Shanghai, with lots of shopping malls, lively streets filled with restaurants and nice parks. There are restaurants, convenience stores and cafes in the streets around the school. There are two large shopping malls a 15-minute walk from the school building.
Getting around: The school is close to Changping Road Station on Line 7. The station is eight minutes by foot from Hutong School. There are a number of buses around the area for students to travel around the city.
Local attractions: The Shanghai Natural History Museum is a 30-minute walk from Hutong School. The rest of the attractions are focused around the Huangpu River. Students can cross the river to visit the Shanghai Tower and the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. This is a 20-minute car ride from the school. The features on the same side of the river as the school include Yu Garden and the lively Nanjinglu Street. These attractions take around 15 minutes by car.
Course structure: There is an intensive package in Chinese that includes accommodation. This can also be booked as a course without any accommodation. There is an internship and a volunteer programme.
