Location: Hellenic Language School Alexander the Great Thessaloniki is located in the historic and vibrant city of Thessaloniki, on the beautiful Greek coastline. The school is a short walk from the city centre and many of the city's historical attractions, such as the Ataturk Museum, Arch of Galerius, the Roman Forum, Aristotelous Square and Rotunda. Within easy reach of supermarkets, cafés and eateries and with the beaches of Peraia, Neoi Epivates, Epanomi, and Agia Triada only short trips away, the Hellenic Language School Alexander the Great Thessaloniki has lots of attractions close by. The Thessaloniki Airport Makedonia is a short 18-minutes drive from the school's front doors.
Course selection: Course selection offers General courses in Ancient and Modern Greek, Business, Greek and dance, and Scientific Greek.
School facilities: The school's facilities include a library, free after-class access to language learning software, a kitchen for student use, and free WIFI. All classrooms are equipped with heating, air conditioning, and ample natural light to create an optimal learning environment.

“Ano Poli is easily accessible on foot, by metro and by bus. We were given a very warm welcome. The teachers are very nice. I really enjoyed the lessons and found them very informative. As I was the only complete beginner, I had one-to-one lessons. Christos is a likeable, competent, friendly and humorous teacher. He answered all my questions. The leisure activities on offer were very varied. For example, the visit to the Church of Agios Nikolaos Orphanos was very interesting and well worth seeing. The teaching materials are completely legitimate and help me a lot with consolidation and self-study. I would definitely recommend the school. Absolutely! I'll be back next year.”

You will receive information and follow-up information about this during the week and it is therefore nice if you can easily put that together. There is also a program to learn words: wozzol.nl. Works great and can be used for training. Another reason to bring a laptop: you feed this program the fastest from Excel.”
Quality of teaching / language progress: I am very pleased with the teachers, but the location is very simple. Doesn't really look like a school, at least not in the perception I expected. More like a conference room. It's sufficient. I have not seen a library.
Other comments: I wouldn't book a transfer to and from the airport. That is more than twice as expensive as if you arrange taxi transport yourself. By bus and from the bus station in Thessaloniki by taxi is much cheaper.
