Location: The Cristóbal Colón Spanish School can be found on a quiet street in the Mariscal neighbourhood of Quito, not far from Ecuador’s Universidad Central. The district, in the North end of the city, is commonly referred to as the New Town and is popular among tourists for its crafts markets, bars, discotechs, bookshops, and restaurants. The area is also home to several embassies and is only ten minutes from the airport.
The School: Cristóbal Colón Spanish School was founded in 1997 and its founder is also the author of a series of Spanish textbooks for foreign language learners. The school offers a wide variety of Spanish programmes, making it simple for students to find a study plan suited to their needs: from weekly or long-term study to an intensive Survival Spanish class for tourists or language learning for children and families.
Out of the Classroom: Cristóbal Colón Spanish School also provides students with the possibility of giving some of their time to the community or to conservation efforts by participating in one of their volunteering programmes.
