Location: CLLC Canadian Language Learning College Halifax is located in the capital city of Canada's Nova Scotia region, Halifax. The school is nestled in downtown Halifax, a moment's walk from the boardwalk. There are several cafes, restaurants and eateries nearby. The local ambience is student-friendly. Attractions within walking distance of the school include the Scotia Square shopping mall, Park Lane Mall, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, the Halifax Citadel, the waterfront and its attractions, and Halifax public gardens.
Getting around: The school has excellent access to local transport networks, with the South Park St After Spring Garden Rd and the Spring Garden Rd After Dresden Row bus stops within 100m of the school's front doors. The Halifax ferry terminal is within a 20-minute walk of the school and the central train station around a 23-minute journey on foot from the school.
Social and cultural: CLLC Halifax provides a varied social activity calendar for all students. Such activities can range from visiting museums, galleries and local attractions to taking coffees or having dinners together. Activities can incur additional costs for entry, etc. Excursions in the local area can include overnight camping on Prince Edward Island, deep sea fishing, white water rafting and surfing.

Good overall. “No technological resources for teachers. Too much time spent on assessment, to the detriment of learning. Very focused on National Geographic books. No activities outside this framework for learning.”
Quality of teaching / language progress:
Good overall. Having already been to another language school, I liked the fact that the course at my level was taught by the same teacher all morning... which made it possible to do more varied activities. In Halifax, because we changed teachers, it was more static. The teacher could only stick to the book... because the assessments were based on it!
Other comments:
We were told that when we arrived at the school everything would be in English... as there was no-one at break or lunchtime, groups formed and spoke their own language. That was my biggest complaint!
