Venue: Cambridge Language and Activity Courses (CLAC) are held at Old Buckenham Hall during the summer months. The school is located in the village of Brettwenham in Suffolk, England.
The programme: As an English language summer camp, CLAC stands out for its reduced size, no more than 70 students per session. And unlike the majority of English summer camps, students at CLAC are given a chance to interact with native students their own age in themed afternoon workshops. While international students are learning English, a parallel camp takes place for British students who study Spanish in the mornings. The two camps come together in the afternoon workshops to learn things like Photography, Art, or Yoga.
Experience: Cambridge Language and Activity Courses have been running their English Summer Courses since 1985. CLAC is a family-owned and -run business and has received many awards for its summer programmes. The programme continues to maintain a family atmosphere, despite the growth of the business over time, and many of their students return summer after summer.
Getting there: For children travelling from overseas, CLAC provides an inclusive personal care service at Stansted and Heathrow airports on scheduled arrival and departure days.
