Location: Al Minbar Institute Rabat is an Arabic language institute located in the vibrant and unique capital city of Morocco, Rabat. The school is housed in the Hassan Quartier, a popular part of the city with much to offer in museums, places of cultural interest, amenities and eateries. Al Minbar Institute Rabat is around a 15-minute journey via public transport or a 30-minute walk from the city centre.
Course selection: The school supplies a range of courses suitable to students of all levels. In addition to Modern Standard Arabic, which is available over several schedules, the school also supplied Moroccan Arabic tuition over several schedules and is available to students of all levels.
Private tuition can also be booked in conjunction with or independently from any other course.
Getting around: The school is a short walk from the Rabat Ville train station, ensuring travel in and around the city can be made with ease. The Rabat - Salé International Airport is around a 30-minute taxi ride or 80-minute journey from the school via public transport.
Social and Cultural: Attractions and sites of social and cultural interest within walking distance of the school include the Bab Soufara Gate, the Bab Rouah Gate, the Museum of History and Civilisations, the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern & Contemporary Art, and several cafes, restaurants and eateries.

“The school is located in downtown Rabat; the facilities (except for the classroom I was assigned) are decent, it has common areas, and the staff is attentive and friendly.”
“In my particular case (a B2-level Arabic course), the quality of instruction left much to be desired. I signed up for a one-week intensive course. I was the only student at this level, so I was able to have a “private” teacher. However, we spent all five days of the course solely on conversation. We didn’t do any exercises to improve reading comprehension, written expression (with the exception of a single essay), or listening—which is usually the most challenging aspect of learning any language. The “excuse” was that the classroom didn’t have the necessary resources (a projector or similar equipment) and that the classrooms that were equipped were occupied by other groups of students at a lower level.
I believe that nowadays there are countless alternatives to not having a projector and laptop in the classroom: we could have read news from any Moroccan newspaper in print, listened to a radio station, used our cell phones to listen to a podcast, translated a song, solved a crossword puzzle, and so on. In short, they showed very little interest in making up for the classroom’s shortcomings, even though I asked them that I also wanted to practice other skills beyond oral expression.
I don’t know what courses at other levels are like. However, based on the reviews I’ve read, they seem to be much more satisfying, and I’m glad, because the staff —it must be said— is very friendly, and there’s a good atmosphere at the school. I sincerely regret that my experience doesn’t allow for a more positive evaluation.”
