"Clean, bright room, and the staff were very helpful. A TV would be useful for improving German.
In the bathroom, the lack of a hair dryer and towels made the first few days of our stay a bit uncomfortable, but we managed to sort things out in the following days.
I recommend staying at Grimm's hotel, just a few steps from the school."

"The city is packed with modern history sites. It’s safe enough that you don't have to worry about walking around alone late at night. English works well in most cases, and it’s also convenient for traveling to nearby areas like Leipzig or Dresden. However, you do need to be a bit cautious in East Berlin."

I thought it would be inconvenient to have to use a shared kitchen, but it was great to get to know my friends and share information in that space.
Also, when it was hot, the basement was cool, so it was nice to drink tea, read, or study. The room I was assigned had a leak in the bathroom, so I had to move to the next room, but I think this should have been checked in advance. Finally, I found out later that I couldn't stay on the weekend night of my arrival, so I had to change my flight and pay 700 euros more for a round-trip taxi from Munich for one night. I guess it's a learning experience, but it's something that could have been coordinated in advance."

"In Germany, you will not find pills to sleep. So take some with you. On the upper floor, there were some hooligans. The Japanese student in the room next to mine lost his patience and requested a change. I stayed the whole month and wanted to kill myself."

"Tareq is an excellent teacher. It was worth going through hell in the accommodation just for Tareq's classes. Bring pills to sleep if you stay on campus. Let them know if you don't like the accommodation and ask for a change or book an airbnb. Classes are excellent. I think there is not a better teacher in Berlin. He teaches A2 German. There were no activities due to covid. They should rebuild the school but perform 3 exorcisms at least first."

"I was absolutely in love with the city. There is always so much to do related to culture, music and art! The nightlife was amazing as well. They were best the nights of my life. If you are looking for a place with cultural background but also fun activities, Berlin is the place!"

"I really liked the school overall, although the lessons could be a little cheaper. However, it is definitely worth it! My teacher Olga was absolutely lovely. Although I had other teachers occasionally, Olga was by far the best! I heard some other students that didn't quite like their teachers but I have 0 complaints. She was very dynamic and would do all types of different and fun exercises. I evolved a lot and had so much fun learning!"

"The accommodation was not terrible but not incredible either. For the price, a shared bedroom and its overall conditions is definitely overpriced. The fridges were dirty and I think they should be cleaned by the cleaners once in a while (they would clean everything except the fridges). The bed sheets were not impeccable although that is something to expect from a dormitory. The furniture was used but in good conditions. The main issues were the broken things like the showers and washing/drying machines that they would take a long time do repair on/replace. There were 2 bathrooms and we would have to use the one on the 5th floor because the other one was broken. They only fixed it when the one on the 5th broke as well, so for 3 days everyone had to shower at the boys bathroom where only half of the showers had hot water! The bathroom on the 4th floor was broken for at least 1 month. They had plenty of time to fix it. Other than that, the room was good, the view was awesome and the location perfect! I would recommend it if you need to save some money and want a good location in Berlin."

"I lived at Siegfriedstrasse. Great place, but it takes about 45 minutes to get to the school (walk to the metro + metro + walk from the metro). There is a cheap Netto store nearby.
There was no tea cup in the apartment - I had to buy one. And a very dim light in the room for studying in the evening."

Of course, they don’t understand anything. Teachers have to teach the same things again. Some students don’t listen, or text friends or look at Facebook. Something.

"The building at Bernburgerstraße is disgusting. A messy dining room with refrigerators full of moldy expired food, shabby kitchen, a dirty shower room. Photos from the web-site do not coincide at all with what I saw. If I had known that it was such a horror, I would never have chosen this building. The administration doesn't care, I went to almost every one and tried to change something, but it was useless."

"The school is well located at the heart of Berlin. All teachers I had were excellent and really passionate about teaching. I did enjoy the evening activities and got to make really good friends at the school. The classrooms & facilities are a bit basic, but enough to learn german."

"The accomodation was extremely dissapointing. Upon my first sleep, i woke up with bites over my body. I though it was moskito bites at first, but soon spoted bed bugs and informed the school. They sent me back to the room with a leafleft and the promise that someone will come the following day to deal with it. I assumed a professional exterminator would have been called, but that wasn't the case. The biting continued after their janitator treated the bedroom and since the school did not offer alternatives, i had to vacate the room and find alternative accomodation elsewhere. Also, the room was filthy, extremely hot and the internet did never work. Overeall i would not recommend the accomodation, however some of my friends did have a positive experience here. In the end I was given a full refund for the accommodation, although it did hardly cover the extra costs I incurred."

"The school was very good. The location is very good, only 5 minutes to the metro and less than 10-15 to the main attractions of the city.
The school facilities are good, the teachers too, all lessons are in German. In the morning class I was the only one who spoke Russian, which was a great language practice for me.
I lived in a residence which is located in the school´s building, it is very convenient, there is no need to waste time on the road in the morning."

"The dormitories are not very hygienic and no rooms and common areas are not cleaned very often. The day of enrollment should be entered suddenly and should be open to any question at any moment as the course starts from the middle. The dormitories in the campus building show that the showers are not very good, are not kept clean and two showers are broken, the other two give hot water after a very long time."

"I lived very far from the school, the way took me about an hour. The apartment included an absolute minimum, quite uncomfortable, there were insects there (perhaps because of the heat). In addition, I couldn't get the keys immediately, I had to wait for several hours. The teachers are sometimes replaced, which is not very good for the educational process. In general, everything is fine, but the number of organizational issues and the dormitory location were a little upsetting this time."

"1. I passed a level test and they didn't show me the results. And I was simply sent to a group.
2. My grammar knowledge was much better than of the other studens of the group. In my opinion, the test was not correct.
3. The teacher often switched from German to English, if there were difficulties with translation. I have a question: why English? I paid for a GERMAN course. I and some other students didn't know English very well. Why didn't she switch to RUSSIAN? Or to CHINESE?
4. If a student is active in the class, reacts quickly and, in general, behaves positively, then this (at school) is not welcomed. According to the teacher, such a student should sit quietly, wait until they ask him or give the opportunity to work to shy and quiet students. In my opinion, it is wrong. You can fall asleep in class if there is no dynamics. And that happened at times!"

"If they say the kitchen is fully equipped, then they are lying. We had 2 forks for 3 people, one pan, no cooking utensils, oven was disgusting and dirty beyond repair, no baking tray, stove had only one working hot plate and we had one cup."

"Lack of cleaning- no vacuum, cleaning liquid or even a working broom.
Broken shower head.
Incompetent cleaning staff and unprofessional secretary work. The unwanted yet mandatory cleaning crew would open our door with his key without knocking (even though there are two girls living there), when I talked to the secretary to discreetly ask him to knock, he later ran into my apartment and angrily told me off and yelled obscenities at me. This was very unprofessional. I do not understand why the secretary had to tell him that out of the entire building I was the one that made the complaint. Shockingly irresponsible and can get someone hurt in the future.
The washing machines were all always broken and the entire process took 4-5 hours minimum.
Kitchen was dirty, dusty, unequipped and utterly impossible to eat from, took days to clean and restock.
Uncomfortable mattresses and no extra sheets. Dining room chairs were all falling apart, someone even fell whilst sitting in one.
Very upset that a guest stay overnight costs 10 euro when we paid so much more money than the apartment was worth anyway. Not only that, but guests had an additional charge of 4 euro per bed item i.e. pillow, pillow cover etc.
We were also promised a desk to work on and there was no such thing. Lighting in the living room was atrocious and very hard to work in."

"There were way to many students in class. For the 3 weeks I was there we were 12-16 people in the class. I felt like I only got to speak a few times in the entire day. The teachers were very different and inconsistent. Our first teacher made me feel like we were in grade school. She seemed annoyed at what she seemed to think was slow progress, pronouncing Asian names, dealing with students who weren't understanding certain grammar rules, etc... Luckily for us, we got a new teacher for the second half. She was much better, but still, there were too many students in class and we didn't get to speak very much. I would recommend choosing a smaller school with an enforced limit to the number of students in each class."

"There wasn't much material covered in class, there were students with a lower level in my group. The students of different genders stayed in the same rooms in the hostel which is simply unacceptable. Nobody cleans the rooms, the kitchen was dirty with an unpleasant smell, we were throwing food from the fridge."
