"A very good mix of classes, updated weekly. A friendly, welcoming atmosphere. During my three weeks there, there were between 15 and 25 students in total each week, which I really liked. I would book this school again!"

"I’d imagined the afternoon activities would be different: I thought we’d be out and about outside school more often, visiting places and experiencing things. There were ‘only’ the walking tours on Mondays and the visit to the pub on Wednesdays outside school. Perhaps this could be described in more detail. The ‘certificate presentation’ was very low-key; you were simply given an envelope. I’d like it if this were celebrated a bit (perhaps it depends on the teacher?), as it is, after all, a special occasion!"

"I liked that it was a young team, everyone was very friendly and flexible. That means that when questions about content arose (related to culture, politics, traditions in Greece), they gave us space to talk about them. In general, they encouraged us to speak without constantly correcting us, which I found very encouraging. They also often used creative (language) games, which made the whole thing much more relaxed! That was great!!"

"The organisation on site was a bit chaotic in terms of extra language lessons for me and a fellow student, but that was eventually sorted out. In other words, the school is flexible in the end. The weekly rhythm, where you can ‘join in’, means that after a week the course is composed differently and there was/is a change of teacher, which I didn't like very much. The extra lessons were also often taught by other teachers, who unfortunately often started ‘from scratch’ (three times: why do you want to learn Greek... etc.). Lamda Project is not as school-like as ‘Alexander The Great’, which is good, but not as well-structured. You have to know what you want and express it, then everything goes smoothly!"

"Athens has some great areas that haven't been "gentrified" yet. I appreciate its proximity to the sea and mountains, and there are great tavernas and bakeries, as well as small craft shops, boutiques, etc., especially near the school! The traffic is terrible (I used my e-bike to get around), but I'm used to that, and unfortunately it's getting worse. The metro is spotless, the streets are very diverse, and rents are affordable, although hardly so for Greeks anymore. Supermarkets and going out are similar to what we have at home. Weekly markets are much cheaper (fruit/vegetables/cheese), so it's hard to make a general assessment."

"Lamda has a great approach to teaching a foreign language. I have taken many language classes before, but nowhere have I felt as comfortable in this foreign setting as I did at Lamda. The course did not feel rushed yet at the same time we were learning a lot. They made us 'feel' the language before diving deeper into its intricacies."

"I felt very welcome by the whole team right from the start. We had a great teacher who taught us a lot in a short space of time. At no time was it too demanding, he always took us along with him. We had a lot of fun in the lessons, they were very lively and not only taught us the language but also things about the country and its people. "My week at Lamda was amazing. The staff were all very enthusiastic and incredibly helpful. Everything exceeded my expectations. I wish I could have stayed more than a week and I hope to return again. It was a great experience from start to finish. I felt very welcomed and supported. I was taught in a class of four (including me) in the mornings for four hours and on my own in the afternoons for two hours. In between I attend fun activities open to all students. I cannot recommend this course more highly. If you are learning Greek, I would suggest going to the theatre in Athens in the evenings. It was inexpensive and a great way to get another two hours of Greek a day. I went to six plays in Greek. By the end of the week I was totally exhausted but in a very positive way."

"The teachers were super committed and motivated and always in a super good mood; their good humour was really infectious. The classes were very small, in the first three days there were even only two of us. You could ask anything and every question was answered in detail. The classes were also mixed in terms of age. At first I was a little worried that I would only be sitting around with twenty-year-olds. In my class, the age range was from 18 to 68 and very international. The school is in a beautifully renovated traditional house with an open patio in a quiet pedestrian street in Exarchia with all the cafes and pubs around it. During breaks, there's coffee and biscuits and Greek music. I immediately felt at home. :-)"

"This is not a criticism, just an observation: it's going very fast! Four hours of lessons a day plus "activities" plus homework plus learning vocabulary - that's practically a full-time job and very exhausting. The younger students in my course felt the same way. In the second week, I skipped the activities, which - in the beautiful Saloni! - often consisted of conversation. I was overwhelmed with that. In a word, sometimes I would have liked more repetition and a slower pace. (But then I probably wouldn't have the A1 diploma now) ;-)"

"Athens is a city of millions on a human scale: you can reach everything in the city centre on foot, there are no skyscrapers and no street jungles, the atmosphere is relaxed and the people are friendly. I'm always amazed at the clean metro stations. Totally different than Stuttgart. I can't comment on the nightlife ;-)"

"I think Athens is a great city to visit. It has a lively and exciting vibe. It is a great city to explore on foot especially in the old districts around the acropolis. There are many different, contrasting areas of the city to visit. Exarchia is lovely to explore in the day or in the evening and to sit out at a bar or cafe under trees. It's wonderful that Athens remains low rise and you can see the acropolis from all areas of the city. The sky remains open. There are not many parks and green spaces around the centre of the city but it's lovely to walk up Lycabettus Hill to enjoy the views or wander around the National Gardens. We enjoyed a lovely tram ride down to the seaside around Kalamaki beach which was beautiful. The water is still crystal clear and there are many lovely bars and restaurants along the coast."

"I spent two weeks at The λamda Project doing a 30 hours/week intensive course in modern Greek. The programs are very flexible and adaptable to individual skills and needs. The teachers are highly educated people with very good pedagogical skills - who teaches with great enthusiasm and energy.
The provided working book is tailored for everyday situations at different levels, facilitates interaction, and gives a systematic and gradual approach to grammar - perfect for the small size class model.
Private/ individual sessions were also very good and professional.
Very modern and suitable facilities with bakeries and many charming restaurants in pedestrian streets close by.
The staff are very service minded, friendly and including people - it felt like a home with very good energy. They also arranged trips, guided city tours, Greek dancing lesson, trips to museum.
I made good progress during the stay, and plan to come back for another session later.
It is quality all the way through - I highly recommend this place for learning Greek in Athens!!"
