"Nice new rooms and equipment. Caring and professional teacher (very meticulous in her linguistic notes!). No coursebooks - original materials used. Kind and respectful school staff. Good day-to-day organization."

"Group Level management: the group was apparently encompassing students between A2 and B1+ level and that was too stretched. I am a A2/B1 student it was rather difficult for me to follow the B2 material which we were clearly leaning into. I really do need 10 ways to express "to help" at my level etc ;) It would have been better for me if this group had been divided into 2 smaller groups focusing on B1 and B2 levels respectively. Variability of Class Activities: I would also appreciate more varied classes in terms of activities proposed - there were too many lecture-type and writing type activities and quite few speaking and listening ones during the day. It would usually even out at the end of the week but there were days were reading and translating phrases were almost all we did which was, well, a little boring at times. Change of Location without Prior Notice - I didn't like the fact that the school avoided taking responsibility for changing the school location when I had already signed the contract and offered no re-compensation. Very unprofessional. That is why I deducted some stars from the "organization" field. On the positive note - I appreciate that the school changed my accommodation after I voiced my concerns about the first one that I had got assigned."

"I didn't like that they didn't take into account the placement test I had taken a few months before. They only went by how well I spoke French. They put me in A1 and the next day I asked for a change to A2 because in A1 they put me with people who didn't know any French and that's not my case. I even took the level test of the free TV5 Monde course recommended by the French government and they gave me a B2 level."

"According to the information provided, access to IT rooms, but this was not possible when asked twice. Afternoon programme good, but only one more or less interesting activity per week. The location of the school was okay, but the host family was far away, so I either had to wait for the fast hourly bus (21 min) or take the tram for about 45 min"

"During the course they do not check whether you can go to a higher level. You must indicate this yourself. Then you are not guaranteed that you will receive lessons at the desired level. It was not possible to go from A1 to A2. I was placed in B1, which was a bit too difficult. Fortunately, a nice teacher who took time for questions and explanations."

"Rooms, frontal teaching, I was there for 2 weeks, unfortunately I had lessons with the same teacher both weeks. I was very disappointed that there was no change.
In the mornings there was a lot of emphasis on free conversation, but there was hardly any correction, so I don't have the feeling that I have learned anything. The conversation does not have to be interrupted, which is detrimental to the flow of speech, but I would have liked corrections afterwards."

"I had several friendly, competent teachers and was able to make progress in my French. The individual lessons were excellent."

"During a stay of 4 weeks, I only had 2 weeks of lessons that corresponded to my level of proficiency. At first I was in A1, then changed to an A2 group at my request. This group consisted of 5-8 learners. In my 4th week, more learners were assigned to this group, so that up to 15 people attended the classes and the level dropped. This affected my learning.
The newdeal premises were cramped, poorly ventilated, dark. Overall, the school made a rather unkempt impression.
Apart from the teachers, most of the staff gave an indifferent, uninterested impression.
I couldn't take part in any leisure activities because of my timetable. In any case, there was only one activity per week."

"Instead of an activity at 6:00 pm: cheese and wine with other students, I would opt for lunch together. Why? Because I was tired from the intensive classes in the afternoon and didn't feel like going back to school at 6:00 pm for a social activity. I went back to the host family every day after school and then went to sleep."
