Positive aspects of school
"The school was amazing! The location was excellent — it’s very central. The classes were just great! The teachers were so dedicated and passionate that it never got boring, and the material was taught very well. I felt completely at home there and would highly recommend the school!"
Negative aspects
"The only thing I might have wished for was perhaps a slightly wider range of afternoon activities; there was hardly anything on during my two weeks there. But my teacher gave me some great tips for things to do, and I also explored Rome on my own... so you certainly won’t get bored."

Positive aspects of school
"Marco was an excellent teacher - perhaps the best of any I have had at 6 different schools in 4 cities. I had one-on-one conversation with Simona who was excellent. The quality of teaching is the best thing about Ciao Italia and of course so very important."
Negative aspects
"I was twice or more the age of any other student at the school. It does not fully come across in the jumble of comments and supposed statistics you may see online, but Rome is not a good city for older students and social activities for older students. It’s too big a city - and a city for young people, and it’s an ecclesiastical “company town”. There are smaller, beautiful places in Italy that in most cases better meet the needs of older students - for me, Venice and Palermo."
Details of the review
City/place
"Rome is incomparable - in the way, though for different reasons, that Paris and London are incomparable. I keep going back to Rome for this reason even though I have not found a language school there that fully meets my needs as an older student."
Quality of teaching / language progress
"Excellent teacher in Marco. The level was not quite right for me - but there’s always plenty to learn or just review again in any course."

Positive aspects of school
"The teachers were superb and I liked the fact that the mornings were split into half grammar (with loads of exercises and practice) and half "communication skills - speaking/reading/writing". I also had some additional individual conversation sessions, which really improved my confidence level. Everyone at the school was incredibly friendly and helpful - it felt like being part of a big family. I was there for 2 months and I wish I could have stayed a little bit longer - I'll definitely go back there!"

"Languagecourse.net should have advertised that the school was closed the Monday before Ferragosta and offered me a refund based on this lack of information being given to me at the time of booking. No activities organised. No induction to library etc. It would also be nice to be told what the course is covering rather than just being put into a classroom with no context.
